Alright earpers sorry this post took longer than I thought but I have not fully processed everything I encounter at Earp a palooza. I was expecting a weekend I you meet a few people that like the same show as I and that I would get to meet my fav people on tv then go back to work Monday morning, but I was wrong. I met friends for life, got the amazing honor to volunteer for the con and help the Earp community in a way I never imagined. I got to experience things that only come once in life but only if you’re in the right time at the right place, I got to step in Shamiers shoes not once but 3 times of getting to EARP UP THE CROWD (hype them up) prior to the panels which changed my life, and getting to not only meet but have conversations with thee amazing people we all love to on our show Wynonna Earp.
So, have you ever been in a place that you felt completely and totally comfortable to be yourself? Well Earp a palooza was that for me. I did and said the things I would normally not because I felt utterly confident in being myself and it paid off because to gave me the privilege to become friends with all these amazing people. I know have roughly 45 eapers that live in MN, so we can have watch parties and Earp out together. And another 450scattered around the USA and some even from across seas. Throughout the whole weekend I kept thinking back to a line from the show The Fosters it goes something like DNA doesn’t make a family but love does and I kept thinking how this show has revolved around the pact that all these poor assholes (Doc referring to Dolls) made the family that they are in. it starts with Wynonna and Waverly who are family but stuck out of love. Then enter Dolls and Doc who slowly ween their way into the untrusting hearts of the Earp girls and our own. Don’t worry I haven’t forgot that lovely lesbian unicorn Nicole and how she effortlessly blushed her way into Waverly Earp’s heart. Thus, proving my point DNA doesn’t make a family LOVE does.
I got to hype up the crowd 3 times before the main cast panel, the ladies of purgatory panel, and the goodbye ceremony. Now it may be hard to believe but that is something I normally would never do but I felt so comfortable with these people I asked the head volunteer “Hey do you mind if I go Earp up the crowd” and she was like yea go ahead. So, I did and let me tell you it was the best drug imaginable being up in front of all those eapers breathing in the amazing energy from the crowd’s enthusiasm. And now I have people tweeting me how cool I was and asking me to do it at other Earp cons and I am so honored and flattered and will show up any time they want.
Now getting to meet the people I have loved for 3 seasons and 1 amazing woman named Emily Andras who I have adored for a very long time.
My first reaction happened while receiving inst how to run line management for autographs the cast walked through the door and passed me. I turn as Dom walks thought the door and I literally stop breathing it’s not till I get elbowed by a fellow volunteer that I remember to breathe but I was absolutely floored by her beauty and the amazing energy she brought into the room as she entered you could latterly feel the energy slap you in the face. She is a truly beautiful and amazing soul. Next, I got to meet Emily for a selfie and who is her handler none other than fucking BRIDGET. So, I get up there and give Em her honorary lesbian flask stating No One Knows I’m Gay. She loved it ha-ha. Then selfie time comes and I’m like Bridget will you please be in my selfie so that happened. Then I got tims autograph for a friend who was unable to attend due to a family emergency and told Tim the story and he took a video of himself and sent it to him. Meeting Kat though short was impression able. I was wearing a BB8 shirt and she asked if I was offended in the panel when she said she didn’t watch Star Wars and I was like no of course not and she was like are you sure with some serious concern. Now dom, dom dom dom. Well I get up to her for an autograph and selfie and at the same time we both say how are you and then have a laugh then both answer good at the same time. Her little laugh and energy was the cutest thing I have ever seen in my life. The photo ops were quick but amazing everyone was so sweet and some even remembered my name.
IN SHORT EARP A PALOOZA WAS LIFE CHANGING AND NEXT TIME WE SHOULD ALL DO IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
